Ship: Get changes to production safely, on a cloud bill that makes sense.

Cloud cost, migration and Kubernetes consulting

Cloud consulting is engineering help to run your cloud for less money and less effort. Valfort Tech audits your AWS, GCP or Azure bill and reports savings in dollars, tags every resource so each cost has an owner, runs zero-downtime migrations and builds a production Kubernetes platform. Bills typically drop 20–40%.

When teams call us about Cloud

The cloud bill grows faster than revenue, and Kubernetes has become a second job.

  • The cloud bill grows faster than revenue, and nobody can explain the increase.
  • A large share of spend is untagged, so no team owns it.
  • Kubernetes upgrades, node issues and cluster add-ons have become a second job for a senior engineer.
  • You need to move regions, accounts or providers but cannot afford downtime.
  • Savings Plans or committed use discounts were never bought, or were sized by guesswork.

What we deliver

Everything ships as code in your repositories, with runbooks and a recorded handover.

Cost audit with savings in dollars

A line-by-line review of your bill. Each finding comes with an estimated monthly saving in dollars and the effort needed to capture it.

Tagging, so every cost has an owner

A tagging policy enforced in Terraform and CI, so every resource maps to a team, a service and an environment.

Rightsizing and commitments

Rightsized instances, autoscaling and storage tiers first, then Savings Plans or committed use discounts sized to real usage.

Zero-downtime migrations

Moves between regions, accounts or providers, or onto Kubernetes, with rehearsals, gradual traffic shifting and a tested rollback plan.

A production Kubernetes platform

EKS, GKE or AKS clusters built in Terraform, with Argo CD, autoscaling, network policies and upgrade runbooks.

Cost dashboards and budget alerts

Spend per team and service in Grafana, with budget alerts, so cost stays a normal engineering signal after we leave.

Typical results

Bills 20–40% lower

Cloud bills typically drop 20–40% after cleanup, rightsizing and commitment purchases.

Every cost has an owner

Untagged spend typically shrinks to a small remainder once tagging is enforced in code.

Kubernetes off the critical path

Cluster upgrades typically become a routine, documented task instead of a week of firefighting.

Typical ranges, not promises. We measure your own baseline in the first week.

How a Cloud engagement runs

The first two weeks run on read-only access. Every change after that goes through your pull requests, with one named engineer and a written update every Friday.

Week 1
Bill and platform auditWe review billing data, cloud accounts and clusters on read-only access, and estimate each saving in dollars.
Week 2
Roadmap and first savingYou get a scored report and a ranked 90-day roadmap, and we ship one fix to production through your pull requests.
Weeks 3–8
Savings and taggingWe work through the roadmap, largest savings first, enforce tagging in code and report dollars saved in every Friday update.
Weeks 9–12
Platform, migration, handoverWe build or harden the Kubernetes platform and run planned migrations, then hand over runbooks and a recorded walkthrough.

Tools we work in

We work in the tools you already run, and only add new ones when they earn their place.

Cloud questions

How much can we save on our cloud bill?

Cloud bills typically drop 20–40%, but your number depends on how the account has grown. The readiness sprint gives you each saving as an estimate in dollars per month, with the effort to capture it. If we do not find at least three times the sprint fee in savings or avoided risk, the sprint is free.

How much does cloud cost optimization consulting cost?

Engagements start with a 10-day readiness sprint at a fixed $3,500. You get a scored report, a ranked 90-day roadmap and one fix shipped to production. If we do not find at least three times the fee in savings or avoided risk, the sprint is free. Follow-on work is scoped after the sprint, and the sprint fee is credited to it.

How long does a cloud migration take?

It depends on the number of services, databases and environments you move. The readiness sprint takes 10 working days and produces a migration plan with an estimate for each step. Each step is rehearsed and has a tested rollback before traffic moves. You get a written update every Friday, so the timeline never comes as a surprise.

Can you migrate to a new cloud or region without downtime?

Yes, for most workloads. We run old and new environments side by side, replicate data, rehearse the cutover and shift traffic gradually. A tested rollback plan stays ready until the new setup has run cleanly in production. Where a short maintenance window is safer, for example for some database moves, we say so up front.

Do we need Kubernetes?

Not always. Kubernetes pays off when you run many services, need fine control over scaling or want one platform across clouds. For a few services, a managed container service is often simpler and cheaper. We recommend a fit during the readiness sprint, and when Kubernetes is right, we build it as code with upgrade runbooks your team can follow.
